EVENT DETAILS
Dear Friend of Northwest Indian College,

The tl’aneq’ (tl-ah-nook) cultural arts gala raises money in support of student success programs and scholarships at Northwest Indian College (NWIC). NWIC, a fully accredited college, plays a vital role in the community by providing ‘place-based’ education with a focus on indigenous values of learning, fused with contemporary education. Our students come here from all walks of life, representing 130 different Tribes, and graduate with the skills and knowledge to become the leaders of tomorrow.

On behalf of the Northwest Indian College and Foundation, I would like to invite you to join us to become a sponsor of our 10th annual tl’aneq’ – “Gathering for a Celebration” cultural arts gala on Saturday April 14th, at the Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort in Suquamish WA.   This is Northwest Indian College’s premier fundraising event beginning with a reception and silent art auction, then a fabulous dinner, accompanied with cultural songs, a performance by GRAMMY nominated and 9 time NAMMY award winning singer Jana Mashonee, and featuring a Native arts auction from award winning Native artists. Many friends of Northwest Indian College (NWIC) will be in attendance including, Tribal leaders, corporate and foundation representatives, as well as art enthusiasts.

Our vision for education at Northwest Indian College is fostering Native student success, which is based on deeply-held beliefs about identity, relationships and stewardship. The Lummi value of “lengesot” means that we watch out for ourselves and love and take care of one another in our community. In the spirit of “lengesot”, I invite you to become a sponsor in support of higher education for Native students. We are pleased to offer several sponsorship options on the attached form. There is a saying, “It takes a village to raise a child”, and together we are supporting the leaders of tomorrow. Please join us for our momentous 10th annual tl’aneq’ celebration!

Hy'shqe! Thank you for supporting Northwest Indian College
